| With the advancement of computer technology and the popularization of the Internet,the Graphical User Interface(GUI)has gradually taken root in the lives of the general public.While making people’s lives more convenient,diverse and interesting experiences brought by the computer also greatly enrich people’s spiritual world.As a new interaction mode,the eye-control interaction method based on gaze tracking technology has been widely used in psychology research,medical treatment and advanced human-computer interaction research aparting from providing novel user experience.However,the problems of low spatial accuracy and “Midas contact” greatly affect the interaction efficiency and experience.As one of the types of eye-control interaction,gaze gesture interaction has great potential to solve the above problems.Based on the research of other scholars,this study analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of different gaze gesture interaction modes,and adopts the relevant research paradigms and methods of Fitts’ s law to the ergonomic research of the identification,recognition and spatial characteristics of the basic interactive elements.According to the experimental results,the design guidelines of the interface including the multi-stroke eye gesture interface are proposed.In the research on the cognitive characteristics and spatial characteristics of interactive interface elements,the design recommendations of the key indicators(element size,distance)of spatial characteristics are as follows:(1)The element size should be selected from 120 px to 160 px to ensure the highest correct rate;(2)The distance between the start field and the end field should be 243px~351px to ensure a high accuracy rate,at the same time the recognition time and operation time should be as short as possible.However,it should be noted that if the larger element size is matched with a smaller distance,it may cause the subjectively expectation and actual experience of false touch.The design recommendations of key design indicators(specificity)of cognitive characteristics are as follows:(3)The specificity of the icon design should be in a style that is closest to the semantics of the graphics to ensure the accuracy and speed when users use their non-central area visual field for recognition.In this part of the experimental research,it is found that the interface brightness will also have an impact on the interactive experience and efficiency.In the research on interface brightness variables and element positions,based on objective experimental results,the design of key indicators is recommended as follows:(1)Background brightness: Neutral brightness colors is suggested to use;(2)Brightness contrast: Neutral color with brightness contrast between 40% and 60% is suggested to use;(3)Position of interface element(termination domain): the upper and horizontal positions from the starting domain has higher performance data,and the performance directly above is the best;(4)Target brightness: Dark colors have better recognition performance.When it comes to the specific design of the brightness of target,user habits and functional requirements should comprehensively considered.In addition,the experiment found that male subjects have higher recognition speed and operational efficiency than female subjects,but are less sensitive to changes in color brightness.The results of this study can be referred to scenarios for specific-targeting user groups or gender differentiation needs.Based on the results of subjective evaluation,this study also gives design suggestions and standards for the three design factors of background brightness,brightness contrast and target brightness:(1)Background brightness: Under the condition that there will be no generate strong visual stimulation for the user,a light-colored background with less than 50% brightness would be better;(2)Brightness contrast: It can be choosed by referring to the interface usage frequency,background brightness and the recommended formula proposed by this study;(3)The brightness of the target object: It is recommended to choose a light color.This study investigates on the basic unit of gaze gestures—the single-stroke gaze gesture,which ensures that the research results can be extended to the widest range of gaze gesture interaction application scenarios,with sufficient breadth and universality.Ergonomic experiment methods and subjective evaluation methods were comprehensively used to study key design indicators from the perspective of objective identification,operational efficiency and subjective user experience,which is fully scientific and reliable.The results will effectively improve the efficiency and experience of gaze gesture interaction from the perspective of GUI design,which is beneficial to promote the further application of eye control interaction in people’s daily life and work,and it will have a wide range of application value. |
