Entering into 21st century, the embedded technology begins to occupy an important position in various fields, and it shows superior and outstanding performances in intelligent household appliances, national defense technology, and so on. Acoustic signal simulator is one of the most important laboratory instrument systems which are widely used in the fields of national defense and scientific research, as well as display console is one of its important components. In this article, the hardware platform of acoustic signal simulator display console system centres on S3C2440A which belongs to ARM9 family of microprocessors produced by Samsung. The embedded Linux operating system is selected for software platform which is used for regulation and application development. Finally, the application framework of graphical user interface (GUI) selects object-oriented Qt for developing. The main contents of this article are divided into two parts, the first part is the device driver development, whose emphasis is the interface designing between ARM and FPGA, including the communications between the two parts and the writting operation controlled by interrupts. The second part is the display console software design, including the invoking from the application level to the bottom level, the dealing of the GPS information. In addition of the above, there would explain how to set up development environment for embedded systems, kernel porting, character device driver, etc.The application results of display console software show that it is easy to operate, and the interface is friendly; besides, it could real-time control the synchronsizing status of the system and satisifys the needs of the experiment.
