University's Laboratory is an important part of educational resources, which undertakes the important task of experimental teaching. It is the important place for teachers and students to conduct experimental research and independent learning, and it can play a vital role in stimulating the innovation ability of the students .At present, most university laboratories is set up for a specific course, in addition to experimental teaching courses, the rest time of laboratory equipment and other resources are in idle state .the laboratory and equipment can not be fully utilized in this management way. At the same time, separation among the laboratories make the resources can not be shared, result in the duplication of resources and serious impedement to the university laboratory construction and development. With the college enrollment and educational information technology development, the traditional mode of laboratory management has been unable to meet the current need, with the development of information, the mode of laboratory management should also be scientific and standardized. The level of laboratory management and information technology play a direct impact on the Laboratory construction and efficiency of university.In this paper, a laboratory information management system is designed and implemented based on the actual situation of Henan Normal University laboratory ;Which aims to break the disciplines, departments and professional boundaries , maxmize the sharing scope of resources within the school, solve the problem of duplication of resources, realize the rational and effective use of resources within the school laboratory, improve the efficiency of teaching and laboratory information level; At the same time, stimulate the interest of students' independent learnig, student can make an appointment for laboratory and equipment based on interests and hobbies to improve the students' capability of interest in independent learning and operational practice.The paper analyzes the status of the laboratories of Henan Normal University, a solution is proposed based on the status. A UML modeling is used to design the system. J2EE system architecture is used, MVC design patterns is combined with , Strtus2, Hibernate, Spring and other open source frameworks is integrated to achieve the laboratory management system based on B/S structure. The functions of laboratory management , Equipment management, equipment reservations, information management, the elective course arrangement of teachers and students, rights management, basic data management, statistical management reports are implemented. The laboratory management system can provide faster, more convenient way for students to make an appointment for laboratories and equipment, teachers can manage the laboratory information from the background of school, it can change the current laboratory management model fundamentally to improve the efficiency of the laboratory and the level information management.
