The large screen display could be integrated display for large amounts of information, increase in the form of information presented, realistic simulation of a virtual work environment. However, the large screen display presented the problem of clutter, which researchers tried to solve. Based on the careful analysis of the previous theory, this study searched for the effect of the locations on detection and visual search tasks with a large screen display in order to find a reasonable solution, which improved the acquisition of critical information. The study conducted four experiments:Experimentl:the effect of the information locations on the detection task with a small screen display;Experiment2:the effect of the information locations on the detection task with a large screen display;Experiment3:the effect of the information locations on the visual search task with a small screen display;Experiment4:the effect of the information locations on the visual search task with a large screen displayThe results of the reaction time for each location were separately classified by specific locations, the upper and lower visual field, or eccentricity. The main conclusions of this study were summarized as follows:1. There was a significant impact of the locations, and the upper and lower visual field on the detection and visual search tasks with a small screen display.2. Compared with the result of a small screen display, there was a significant impact of eccentricities on tasks with a large screen display.3. Compared with the result of a small screen display, there was a more significant impact of the locations, the upper and lower visual field and eccentricities on tasks with a large screen display.
