Design And Realization Of Large-scale LED Display-screen System

With the high development of communication in our society, LED large screen including so many kinds of technique such as semiconductor technology,electro circuit,integrate circuit,image manipulation,information transfers,computer network and electronic manufacture technology and engineering has become more and more active in the information field, and also made a great progress with application and popularization in every walk of life.A kind of LED large screen system was designed in this paper, with 320*256 pixels; it can display any array data in red, yellow and green. The whole screen adopted distributed structure, and it's made of 160 display modules, each of which can work on its own under the control of Singlechip. By programming the Singlechip, multiple dynamic modes such as screen rolling, veil pulling, and neon light and so on can be achieved, the dynamic speed can be adjusted in 100 steps, also the color of words and background can be set to pure, red, green and yellow. By RS-232 the system communicates with PC in interrupt mode to transfer data and command. The software can carry out choosing and sending command, recording words, choosing word's type, changing word's size, preview, transmitting data, choosing text, locating mouse, chasing coordinate, displaying time and date and so on, also it can create, pick up, manage and transmit data and control the display screen real time.This paper introduced the large LED array screen system in several aspects, such as hardware structure design, dynamic function design, software design, and communication interface and so on. The paper described the critical technical design principle and the realizing methods, discussed the capability, structure, research course, difficulty, innovation, the existing issue and the revised methods.The LED screen not only can be used as an information display system but also as an assistant teaching aid. It covered various experimental items and special skills, including digital circuit, timer, interrupt, scanning display, Singlechip, data store, serial port communicate, multi-machine communication, assemble program, VC program and so on. The display module also can be used as teaching aid. This paper was linked closely with a scientific research item in Beijing Information and Technology College. The designed system has been set in the school building's ground floor and used formally, which can work steadily and well. The real nice display effect verified the validity of the design.
