With advantages of small volume, light weight, high efficiency, high reliability, semiconductor laser is widely used in optical communication, photonics, medical, military and many other areas. Especially in optical communication, semiconductor lasers have become irreplaceable illuminant.As a sort of semiconductor lasers, since it has prominent advantages such as narrow bandwidth, tunable wavelength and frequency stability, DFB laser is widely applied in laser communication, gas detection and many other areas. At present, the narrower linewidth and the greater tunable wavelength range has become the hot issue on the research of DFB laser in domestic and foreign.This paper studies DFB laser from two aspects: driver circuit and temperature control circuit. Designing and making two kinds of driver circuit: LM317 constant current driver circuit and MAX3669 constant power driver circuit. Study on DFB laser's performance under two kinds of driver cases. By comparing and analysing experimental result, DFB laser has better stability under MAX3669 driver. Meanwhile designing and making LTC1923 temperature control circuit, adjust laser's center wavelength by changing reference voltage to set laser's temperature. Through experimental research, this paper has developed DFB laser with constant power and 3nm tunable wavelength range.This paper also built experimental platform for signal demodulation on DFB laser. By means of making experimental research on static and dynamic signal demodulation, achieve signal demodulation on small scope of FBG wavelength as well as alternating current.
