The radiotherapy planning system is a link between clinical and radiation equipment. Medical images data management system is a key part in radiotherapy planning system which has a fine performance. The knowledge of radiotherapy planning data management system involves medical images database, image processing and medicine related areas. As there are so many kinds of types of data and their relationship is complex, how to organize data efficiently in storage system is the main problem in radiotherapy planning system. In this paper, the medical images data management involves mainly includes the processing of medical images and data archive and storage in the system. It is to solve the organization and storage problems between image data and related module in system.Firstly, according to the standard of Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, this paper elaborates DICOM encoder mode and its file structure, and analysis DICOM information model and its four information objects which were defined in composite image model. After getting the head file Information from DICOM image, the paper designed the general DICOM class and achieved flicker-free window changed display of medical images by studying data organization technology in radiotherapy planning data management system.Then, after studying the analysis of data organization technology, this paper designed the data storage technology in radiotherapy planning system. Firstly, this paper studied the separate storage method between image data and other data and the hierarchical storage strategy of image data; Secondly, by studying date relationship in radiotherapy planning system, this paper finished designing database relationship tables at all levels; At last, based on the DICOM class designed before we have finished the import of DICOM data, which means saved the important information of the head file in medical image to a corresponding database table. After all these work, through studying data processing in radiotherapy planning system, such as browse showing of medical images, data storage of two-dimensional and three-dimensional medical image processing and report printouts, this paper have achieved the radiotherapy planning data management system.Through the realization of the radiotherapy planning data management system, it proves that each module can update and storage all data well with database. As the optimal designing of two-dimensional tables, the data of diagnose plan can be preserved and retrieval. In addition, the current operation can be saved in suitable position during two-dimensional processing, three-dimensional processing and report printouts, avoiding the repeated operations which were cause by the mistakes of some operations. The radiotherapy planning data management system can manage the data in system which including all operations, which makes the system has the ability of stability and scalability and improves the efficiency for the doctor.
