With the rapid development of the information technology and informatization, information systems have become foundation stone to the digital campus. Furthermore, the issues that information systems facing in high availability have become increasingly remarkable. How to guarantee the high availability of information systems and ensure continuous operation of its business has become the research focus.Failure detection is one of the key technologies to ensure high availability of systems, and fast, efficient and accurate failure detection is the prerequisite of achieve high availability. With the goal of detecting the failure of information systems to ensure the high availability of information-services of digital campus, through researching on failure detection technology, this paper have applied the failure detection techniques to the field of digital campus by combining with the actual status of digital campus informatization.The main work of this paper is as follows:1,Against the high-availability problems of digital campus, this article makes a beneficial attempt on applying failure detection theory and technology in educational informatization, ensuring the high availability of information systems.2,With the research and analysis on the mainstream and classical adaptive failure detection algorithm, we compare of different algorithms in aspects of accuracy and fast performance. And we achieve, with a more in-depth research on algorithms, the optimization of the second failure detection algorithm based on freshness point.3,With the deep research on failure detection theory and technology, we put forward and design a Web-application oriented framework for failure detection. According to the requirement of framework, we use a variety of software engineering principles to achieve the framework.The framework plays an important role in guaranteeing the high availability of digital campus and ensuring continuity of information services, which will promote digital campus informatization in the future.
