In an increasingly complex battlefield environment, Radar target recognition(RTR) faces with severe challenges. It is often difficult to meet the RTR requirements relying solely on the information offered by a single sensor. The performance of RTR can be improved greatly by identity fusion. This dissertation deals with target recognition technology in active/passive radar composite guidance. The first part is the introduction. Firstly, the paper introduces the background and significance of this issue studied in this dissertation, and then the definition, principle and levels of multi-sensor information fusion are introduced. At last the advantages and shortcomings of the three levels of active/passive radar fusion target recognition are sumed up.The fusion target recognition technology of active/passive radar in jam condition is studied in chapter 2. Firstly, the judgement of the consistency of the target identities in active and passive radar processing and the methods of detection and discrimination of unresolved target are studied, and then a active/passive fusion target recognition algorithm based on space information of the targets is presented. When the one of the two sensors is jammed, the algoritm is able to find the interested target against the jams quickly using the space information of the targets by means of data association and to restrain the impact of the jams. This algorithm is simple and feasible, so it is adapt to apply in jam condition, and the simulation reveals the validity of the this algorithm. The fusion recognition technology of active/passive radar based on characteristic information is studied in chapter 3. On the basis of the analysis of the target characteristic information which can be used in fusion target recognition, three fusion recognition algorithms are applied to active/passive composite guidance: weighted geometric distance based fusion recognition algorithm, neural networks based fusion recognition algorithm and D-S theory based fusion recognition algorithm. From the simulation results it can be seen that the fusion recognition performance is greatly improved with the feature vector dimension and the SNR increases, which reveals the validaity of these three algorithms. Finally, we summarize the work and point out prospect of active and passive radar composite seeking technology in chapter4.
