The rapid development of VoIP also contributes to make the voice gateway technology become more and more mature, especially SIP-based gateways have become the mainstream of the enterprise's choice. However, with the development of digital communication technology, the expansion of business scale and the growing scale of the traditional PSTN network inside the company, more and more enterprises begin to realize the benefits of a total IP based enterprise communication network. Because the cost of maintaining two communication networks has risen to the point which is difficult to ignore, a total IP based enterprise communication network has become a valuable subject to research on. Based on the fact that a large number of SIP-based IP-PBX have been deployed, this paper designed and implemented a new type of SIP voice gateway which can improve the IP based enterprise communication network.This paper briefly described the SIP communication protocol and the development status of SIP-based voice gateway. On this basis, designed and implemented a new type of voice gateway which is SIP Trunk. The SIP Trunk provides a virtual SIP relay which is similar to the traditional PSTN relay to enable the direct interconnection between the internal IP-PBX of enterprises and the external INTERNET IP phone operators. In this network architecture, all external calls are routed through the SIP trunk to the ITSP. Only SIP soft phones are needed to be deployed within the enterprise, which means easier maintenance and lower cost. In order to verify the availability of SIP Trunk, the paper designed relatively complete test solutions including functional testing, performance testing and stability testing specifications, and conducted a meticulous testing. At the same time, the achievement of the related issue was tested as a produce of an enterprise, and the test result is good. It is certified that SIP Trunk can not only compatible with the original SIP voice function, but also can save the cost of enterprise management, and promote the building of IP based enterprise communication network. |
