As the network spread in daily life, network-related applications have become an integral part of people's lives, especially the video-on-demand applications. With video on demand technology has matured, not only in the computer terminal, but also in the IPTV is mushrooming developed. This makes the size of video on demand system constantly growing, so when implementing a video-on-demand system, it can be divided into several sub-systems. Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) is an application layer protocol of TCP/IP protocol system, from the transport point of view, video-on-demand relay system based on RTSP (RTSP relay system) will be one of the most important parts to study, which increases the convenience, fluency and integrity of video on demand.RTSP relay system is used Java and C programming language, used Eclipse as a development environment, in according to software engineering development process, firstly, the system needs analysis and then uses UML object-oriented technology gradually to give the use cases diagram, sequence diagram, class diagram, and the overall system design. Then the system is divided into real-time streaming transmission module, real-time transmission module two main modules of the system's basic design and detailed design. While the RTSP relay system is a subsystem of video on demand, but it implements streaming media control relay, streaming media relay and the interface to session control system, it plays a central role in the whole video on demand system. RTSP relay system connects with VOD server and Receiver by using Socket, and it provides the port number of connection for transmission of streaming media from VOD server to Receiver.The RTSP relay system uses forward error correction, greatly improving the integrity and effectiveness of video transmission; the time management of session control system ensures the right of each user, providing a more effective protection of intellectual property.
