With the increasing complexity and expanding of the simulation system, multi-resolution modeling and simulation has become an inevitable trend. At the same time, the simulation process involves a large number of simulation model and data. Model base and simulation base become increasingly significant. The establishment of simulation model base and management system that can classify, store, and manage simulation resources in a reasonable way, which realizes the reuse of simulation resources.Here in this paper I introduce technologies and achievements of the multi-resolution modeling around the world. Because the weapon model base is the basis of multi-resolution modeling and simulation system, I choose"the multi-resolution weapons model base"as a research topic .Then the paper studied the multi-resolution modeling and simulation theory and designed a multi-resolution combat simulation category. In accordance with the classification of multi-resolution combat simulation, the paper analyzed the storage strategy of the weapon base, and then established a model base of weapons. As there is a variety of multi-resolution methods, the weapon model base implemented the multi-Resolution modeling methods, in close combination with the weapon resources database. It realized the"Optimal Choice Modeling, Aggregation/Disaggregation, Multi-Representation Modeling"three methods. In order to solve the different 3D model format problem, I choose the"Open Scene Graph"(an open source high performance 3D graphics toolkit) to rend model files. At the end of the article, according to the needs of the research, I developed an interface program for the communication between the model base system and other simulation federate. Because of the entity models in the weapon model base are large file data which are not suitable for real time interaction, the application provided a non-real time data sharing and interface. The realization of the two communication methods made the application really work in the real simulation environment.
