In recent 20 years, wireless ad hoc and WSN have received broadly public attentions for their traits such as the self-organization, cost-effectiveness and good adaption to various extreme conditions, especially in which it is difficult to build up power supplying systems(forests, fields, mountains) or send people in (harsh natural cond., heavily contaminated areas) or accidental areas(natural disaster or power failure). These networks need neither any extra fixed facilities nor the help of manual labor when applied. As a result of these merits, they were applied in the fields of military, industry, transportation and so on.This paper has focused on the routing protocols of ad hoc and WSN networks and the inter-connection protocol between the mutually heterogeneous networks. Traditionally, when applied, ad hoc and WSN both need a node called "gateway", by which users could collect data and communicate. But there exist two major problems:1)user must appoint at least one gateway node for each network type respectively due to the heterogeneity, which increases the inconveniences clearly; 2)the failure rate gets higher as the number of the gateway nodes gets bigger, which accordingly increases the cost of the application and maintenance. Aiming at these problems, this paper has designed and implemented an integrated mobile wireless network platform. This platform has realized two heterogeneous ad hoc routing protocols and the interconnection protocol between them and also has a good adaption to TCP/IP, by which users can talk to the platform easily using the Internet and WLAN to perform various different kinds of jobs. This platform is based on the ARM920T architecture and embedded Linux OS. It holds of high performance, low power consumption and small size in hardware and multi-task scheduling, good compatibility and support to TCP/IP and new devices in software. Through a series of tests for the usability, average response time, processing delay and transmission rate in real wireless condition, we concluded that this platform has fulfilled its expectation and performs good as well. Thus this platform has some certain values in application .
