In recent years, the research of wireless sensor network gradually gets the focus from the industry and academe. It has a great application future in the military and civil area. Design of intelligent environmental monitoring system is one of the most active research fields in wireless sensor networks. Theoretical analysis and experimental researches of wireless sensor network's energy management in gieenhouse monitoring system were executed in this paper. This paper provides some experiments for the application of wireless sensor network in greenhouse.Energy consumption is the most important parameter which decides the validity in wireless sensor network. An energy experiment hardware platform, constituted with MSP430 and CC2420 hard-core parts, is realized in this task. The energy consumption of sensor nodes and the relationship between energy consumption and attainable distance are researched in experiments. And the lifetime of single sensor is estimated. An effective energy management strategy is proposed and analyzed based on dynamic power management.Theoretical analysis and experimental result show that single sensor's energy consumption in direct proportion to the cube of its attainable distance, a sensor node could normally work about 8 months supported by two 5# dry batteries. In addition, with the mode employing network structure of mobile sink nodes the communication distance among sensor nodes is shorten greatly, and the energy consumption is saved by 14%.
