With the rate of urbanization and wider range of people's activities, the needs oflocation-based service such as car navigation, bus line design and location query isbooming. In such circumstances, GIS (Geographic Information System) came with the tideof fashion. With the development of Shanghai Besttone, our company has graduallychanged from a simple ISP to integrated information and service provider, in whichlocation-based information service is an important content. GIS (Geographic InformationSystem, Geographic Information System) based on mapping and measuring, takingdatabase as a storage and source is a global spatial analysis technique using computerprogramming as a platform. GIS location systems can be roughly divided into three parts:First is the map data including basic map data and business data, the other is the GIS enginewhich do display, retrieving, editing and analyzing based on map data and provide an openAPI interface for business systems, the rest is the system administration componentsmanaging data resources, services functions, logs and SP permissions.The GIS system built before is mainly for internal use to get related informationservices based on the map and location information. The POI disadvantages of inadequateinformation, long term of update, limited system performance and simple function areholding back business development. So we are transforming the old system to GIS lifeinformation service system which can meet the requirement of business development. Imainly take part in following2aspects of research and working:1) Map data aspect: How to combine Besttone abundant directory data with spatialposition of GIS. 2) GIS engine aspect: How to improve system performance and provide friendlydisplayThe results of my research turned out to be good due to the construction anddevelopment of GIS life information service system, which effectively solved the problemsof the old system. The main results are as follows:1) Geocoding is a coding system based on spatial position, which can transfergeographic position information described as an address to geographic coordinateswhich can be used by GIS system. Besttone abundant directory data can bespatially spotted in GIS by Geocoding, which will ensure POI information to beaccurate and abundant and enrich map data.2) The combination and application of tile map technology, spatial analysistechnology and spatial database will help to improve the performance ofsystem.3) WEBGIS is a based-on-brower access to the map. It separates map data fromclient to make client smaller, which differs from traditional desktop GIS such asMapInfo, ArcGIS. Users can visit map by browser on mobile or computer.WEBGIS based on tile map engine generates map sections in advance, which isdifferent from traditional map data, organizes and restores according to Pyramidrules so that it can achieve seamless display through the dynamic map splicing onthe client side.Making use of GIS life information service system, Besttone company has effectivelycarried out a series of business such as comprehensive information query, surroundingsearch, on-line114, achieving a great promotion in the field of information services. Ourcompany offers voice service more than10,000times a day which has received generalrecognition and appreciation by citizens.
