The vehicle intelligent terminal system is a high-technology system which amalgamates the Global Positioning System (GPS) with the wireless-network communication technology. As a vital part of the Intelligent Civil Transport System (ITS),the development of vehicle-mounted intelligent terminal has an aboard and far-reaching meaning for the remission of civil transport burden, improving the management of road transport, developing the intelligent transport carrying trade.This dissertation offers a scheme for the design and achievement of the vehicle-mounted intelligent terminal system based on ARM9 processor and indigenous KYLIN Embedded Linux operating system. The terminal receives and processes the GPS data, transfers the data of vehicle state information to the monitor center by GPRS wireless-network. Monitor center processes this information and sends the control dictates to the vehicle-terminal by GPRS.The main contents and contributions of this dissertation are as follows:(1) Based on the study of hardware and software structure and module characteristics of GPS intelligent vehicle system, a GPS intelligent vehicle system design scheme based on ARM embedded processor and KYLIN Embedded Linux system is proposed in this paper. At last, the collectivities scheme designs for the hardware and software are offered.(2) Based on the ARM9 hardware structure, the course of circumstance established for Embedded Linux system and the analysis of requirement for the terminal, we implement the transplant of Embedded Linux system to ARM9. Hereinto, modification and transplant of the u-boot, configured and tailored of the kernel of the Embedded Linux system, and the custom-tailor of the file system are the emphases. In the end, this chapter describes the start process of the vehicle-mounted intelligent terminal system.(3) In allusion to Linux system and bottom hardware equipment, the drive programs for the character model are exploited. It makes the applications can invoke the hardware equipment. Based on the requirement of the function and the characteristics of technology, the software of multi-task control is designed in this chapter.(4) In order to solve the software remote upgrade problem of the GPS intelligent vehicle system based on the KYLIN Embedded Linux, GPRS technology, IAP, expansion mechanism, the resume from breakpoint technology and checkout mechanism are studied in the paper, and a remote upgrade scheme is proposed to realize the real-time upgrade with high veracity and reliability.
