In this paper,an embedded terminal fishing vessel monitoring software is designed according to the general task requirements of a security monitoring system of seafood culture farm.The open-source software Linux,an embedded operating system,and embedded Qt/E4 GUI graphical user interface technology are applied to support a built-in electronic map.The trend of embedded technology and the market competition were considered when selecting these technologies.The system uses 32-bit embedded processor ARM9 S3C2410A,external GPS module and GSM module to realize the acquisition of the location information,display, communications and other basic functions;Embedded Linux terminal system software inherited the open-source software's advantages of low cost,good security and high stability.First of all,this paper describes the background of the security monitoring system,the development of the embedded systems used to satisfy it's requirements and it's significance. System software design ideas and directions are proposed on the basis of it and emphasize on the merits of open source software in today's embedded system software.Overall design standards of the system program and hardware development are put forward.The design depends on a number of signifciant technologies,such as GPS technology,AT instructions of GSM,QtopiaCore4,and the cross-compilers.An embedded Linux system is used as a development platform on which to build the solution.Secondly,a detailed analysis of the bootloader system of the U-boot and process of initialization and transplanting are completed according to the embedded terminal software design objectives.Embedded Linux systems and the root file system are built;Linux drivers of the external GPS module and GSM module are transplanted on development board.They can communicate with the development board so that the Linux development platform is built to develop embedded Linux system and support the Qt/E4 GUI application.The interface of the embedded system is designed and the extraction and the output of the GPS information are done.The GSM sends an SMS containing the GPS location information to the monitoring center;the design of the electronic map and the expansion of other features are reserved for future development;the embedded system is expected to be improved in the future as part of ongoing work. The GPS information acquisition,displaying,and transmission requirements are realized in the embedded Linux system.The system runs stably and maintains a good working state in the laboratory.
