With the social development and improvement of people's living standards, People's demand to the quality of medical service is higher and higher. So, How to make more efficient, intelligent positioning and monitoring of medical service are urgent problems to be solved. ZigBee, as a new wireless networking technology with low distance, low power, and low cost, has been widely used in indoor positioning applications. But, such kinds of applications still meet the challenges, such as software in application layer coupling with the hardware, networking, positioning algorithms, communication protocols of ZigBee, shortage of common message transmission and event processing mechanisms, low degree of code reusability and long cycle of development.In order to solve the problems above, this paper takes the real project of ZIPSH (ZigBee based Indoor Positioning System in Hospital) development as background, and based on the analysis of business requirements of ZIPSH applications, discusses common problems in such applications, including the integration and transmission of ZigBee Positioning data and RFID monitoring data, the processing of positioning event and monitoring event. After that, this paper proposes a solution about a reusable application framework for ZIPSH, and describes its design and implementation. Finally, this paper also describes application of the framework in a hospital infant protection system. The result indicates that the framework is feasible and effective.Contrasted with other similar frameworks, this paper has the following characteristics:(1) The data access gateway implementes the transformation from raw data to applications'specified data, which leads to the loose couple between ZigBee net and the applications.(2) The transmission of monitoring data and positioning data is based on the asynchronous mode of Subscribe/Publish, and also supports the mode of Request/Response. The synchronous mode is adapted to the situation with high real-time requirement and the Subscribe/Publish makes the loose couple with data dispatcher and receiver. Finally, an anonymous many-one link is also supported between subscriber and dispatcher.(3) The framework adopts the architecture of event driven and Complex Event Processing mechanism. The message of monitoring and positioning are converted to event through the event sourcing adapter, and its relevant time sequence and relations can be discovered and processed with the utilization of complex event processing engine.
