The recent computer games released by Sony and Micrsoft annouced the era of high picture quality in the 21st century. With the continuous development and improvement of computer game hardware and the constant pursuit of game picture impact by people in the field, Next-gen game made a huge leap in the sense of quality compared to the traditional PC." The development of technologies in relevant fields of this next generation game painting manufacture also attracts great attention from painting manufacturers. This thesis conducts profound discussion and study on the background and relevant technologies of role manufacture of next generation game industry, and summarizes a set of specific, effective and feasible manufacturing methods. The innovation of this thesis lies in the application of current newest technologies in integrating different software to expound problems the next generation game confronts in various aspects of manufacture, together with the most scientific and effective solutions for the moment layer by layer.The main task of this thesis is to make deep study, analysis, practice and conclusion on design, manufacture and lower layer technologies of roles in the next generation game, with an aim to find out a set of effective and feasible manufacturing methods that are suitable for different game platforms. The main study content of this thesis include:(1) This thesis conducts a study on the development background, manufacture and current development situation of relevant technologies of the next generation game, analyzes in details current situation of its research and development at home and abroad, elaborates the key of good game roles lies in efficient coordination of different software and master of normal mapping.(2) This thesis makes deep analysis on design philosophy, modes and approaches of designing game roles of the next generation game, which include classification of role types and styles, design principles and elements, as well as procedures of role manufacturing and labor division of team cooperation.(3) This thesis explains through elaborative analysis principles, specifications and procedures of role model design, thus further analyzing and summarizing the establishment of role models, manufacture of high-model and drying of normal maps of the next generation game, together with how to choose appropriate modeling software and methods to manufacture animation roles. Analyzing and studying advantages and disadvantages of different modeling technologies become the key to solve this question. This thesis put forward the idea of applying appropriate tools in suitable objects during the process of modeling manufacture, such as MAX is suitable for manufacturing low-model, ZB is suitable for carving high-model, and XN works best in drying maps. Only by such coordination can obtain the highest efficiency. Finally, a set of highly efficient establishing procedures and designing approaches of role manufacture of the next generation game is put forward through many years of practice.(4) A set of mapping manufacture modes and methods suitable for role manufacture of the next generation game is brought forward through the study on classical oil painting techniques, and two sets of specific painting methods and procedures of maps are summarized according to groups with different painting foundation, thus effectively solving the dilemma when those without any painting foundation can't start on mapping, together with jointing problems of maps and seamless mapping technologies.(5) Through study and analysis, this thesis improves manufacture methods of features, scales and helmets maps in roles of the next generation game, thus solving difficult points of manufacture and improving work efficiency.
