Since 1970s, digital technology and hardware processing capability have been continuously developing. At the same time, film industry is going through the transfer from imitation to digitization in prophase shoot, post production and publishing. It is a certain trend in world film for it to develop from photographic period to digital period. The giant change in film industry is also generally recognized as the third change in film technology development history. During recent years, the DCI(Digital Cinema Initiatives) has published DCI Digital Cinema System Spec V1.2, which made a systematic illustration and specification to the specific formulation of digital film system and technological requirements of digital film equipments. The final orientation of DCI regulation is to make the quality of image and sound that are reproduced totally by digitization meet and even surpass that in 35mm photographic film. The project"Research and Manufacture of Hardware System of 2K High Definition Digital Film Player Based on PCI Express and FPGA"is operated under this background. On the basis of analyzing requirements of DCI regulation on the specific formulation and hardware system of 2K high definition digital film player, which is undertaken by the author and colleagues from the program team, this article proposes the idea of systematic overall infrastructure, which means to use systematically CPCI structure consisted of the main server and data processing board and to transmit data through PCI Express bus. After the main server finishing unpacking of data trend, report it to data processing board in DMA though PCI Express interface. Data processing board, made up of FPGA and DDR2, mainly undertakes the deciphering and decoding of data trend received and transmits the video data superposed to projector for display through Dual Link HD-SDI interface as well as transmits the voice data decoded to voice DSP for packing and then transmitting to amplifier in AES3 mode.After a systematic theory diagram, the author mainly makes a planning and simulation of PCB designing for data processing board, including appearance designing of PCB board, lamination designing, outlying designing and cabling designing etc. During the designing process, HyperLynx is used for interface connection and crosstalk simulation before wiring and after wiring to make sure the data processing board after processing and production can realize the expected function and possess good signal integrity. Cooperating with colleagues of FPGA development, make DDR2 reading and writing of finished PCB processing card through Industrial Personal Computer and make a test on AES128 coding and decoding after finishing the production and conjunction of PCB.
