The Narrative Analysis Of Newsweek Cover Story

Narrative is divided into two parts in narrative theory, One is the "story"that is "what people experience something"; one is the "discourse"that is "how to tell the story." News narrative is also facing two problems, namely, what is reported and how reports, so the news narrative can be divided into the news narrative fact and the news narrative discourse.But the news narrative is different from the narrative. This difference is not in scope of the study, but in different subjects. The object of study of the news narrative is news text and methods. News narrative is real and objective news reports, However, while the objective reporting it has a certain tendency.News has a certain position, News coverage process is a process of interpretation of meaning, but also a process of ideological constructionThis paper selects the cover story of the "Outlook"Weekly and the "Phoenix Weekly" as the research objects, according to the news narrative theory,we concerns following three aspects of the effect: First, the artistic elements of the news narrative, namely choose which news narrative perspective; Second, the main factors of the news narrative, namely, the news narrator; third, the structural factors of the news narrative, namely, choose whice news narrative mode. Exploring newsweeklies whose main task is promotion and non-market-oriented and newsweeklies whose main requirements is the market, in the above three aspects of the different points and the reasons and, finally, conclude the two paths of the news narrative in newsweeklies,respectively, the promotion of the mainstream ideology and the maintenance of the journalistic professionalism.
