The Study On Coverge Problems Of 3G Base Station Location

In the development process of 3G, wireless network planning is a huge challenge which operators will face with, and base station location planning is a main segment of 3G wireless network planning. With the increasing of mobile users, in order to meet the growing demand, basic station of domestic there telecommunication operators have to be expanded and new-built. However, the expansion of wireless network brings the increasing of base station and unreasonable of resources allocation. Location, planning and construction of base station determine the quality and performance of wireless network. Therefore, we should attach importance to the planning and optimization of 3G base station location.This paper main studies the coverage problems of 3G base station location. Firstly, this thesis introduces contents and process of 3G wireless network planning, principles of wireless base station location, the problems of wireless network planning which should be noticed. Then it outlines the theoretical study situation of base station location in domestic and foreign, and the traditional covering problems model. Secondly, through the link budget and dissemination of models to estimate the coverage radius of the base station, it makes a cover planning on the 3G system, which is based on coverage planning process. Then based on the idea of capacity planning, it makes a capacity planning of 3G system, and gives the ideal model of the capacity calculation. Based on those work and the principle of Mobile Station allocation and power allocation, it established Set Covering model and Maximal Covering model of 3G system. Then making solve with LINGO to examples, and drawing between the base station and mobile station connections.Finally, the content is summarized, and further investigation is prospected. The research of this paper can give some valuable suggestions for base station location.
