With the great development of the internet and the growing network size, the network become more complexity than before, and how to improve the speed and quality of wireless network immediately becomes a important and worth topics. The emergence of Ultra-wideband wireless technology provides a good solution for this problem. By using nanosecond pulses to transmit information, UWB can produce bandwidth up to several GHz and can share frequency bands with other wireless communication technology. UWB wireless technology major used in indoor. The Researches show that UWB high-bandwidth physical characteristic can well satisfy the growing internet users and adapt to the increasingly complex network environment.In this paper, we will make an in-depth analysis for UWB, including the basic principles and format of these protocols. According to the standards of these protocol and marketing demand, an implementation of Ultra-wideband wireless communication system software MAC layer under NDIS is provided. Based on the analysis for the main functions of NDIS, the position of the UWB MAC layer software in the whole network system, the general scheme and module division are explained. Then the blue print for packet processing and memory management are spread in details, the latter include how to manage the memory in driver programming efficiently, which is the difficulty of system design. At last, the program development is realized.Finally, methods, environment and the testing ideas for UWB project are provided. And also, the testing procedures and results are described briefly. These results show that the system meets the protocol standards and the initial requirement, and achieve the expected goals. UWB technology itself has bandwidth advantages, while strictly accord to standards, software MAC layer realize the effective management and utilization of resources, the combination of both achieved satisfactory results.
