At present, with the development of intelligence, information technology and network, embedded technology obtains a broad space for development. Its fields of application include industrial control, traffic management, intelligent home appliances, robots, cell phones and PDA. At the same time, because the field of embedded technology with high barriers to entry, not only to understand the principles of hardware and software programming, but also to reach a certain level of them, and this area is developing too fast, technology is advancing rapidly, it led to the scarcity of embedded talent. In this condition, how to carry out practice teaching to train students by the existing lab environment of ARM microprocessors, meeting market demand, with strong sense of innovation and high practical ability, is becoming the most important problem in various schools in the experimental electronic teaching process. Therefore, designing a set of new ARM experimental device which could be used for practice, such as curriculum design, graduate design, and electronic competition is very necessary.This paper describes the research of a new experimental device and the background and significance of ARM processors, summed up the problems of traditional experimental teaching aids. Then briefly describes the chips and the tools for the development of application software. After that it introduced the overall design, schematic design of the hardware and software design. In the time, it focuses on the design of core board which based on S3C2410A, and the corresponding design of experimental software, elaborates the experiments which the new device could be used for. Finally, it illustrates the simulation debugging in the virtual hardware platform and summarized the shortcomings of the design and gives the next target.
