The Design And Implementation Of A Bar-Code-Based Commodity Circulation Management System

With the advent of the internet age, commodity circulation management are more and more in close contact with most of corporate departments, and gradually becomes one of the absolutely necessary management project for these departments. How to be properly and effectively managed, how to better manage the network and to eliminate fake and shoddy goods to maximum,to build a modern commodity circulation system, have be some essential issueses. From that standpoint,a commodity circulation management system to assist enterprises in information management and making correct decision based on bar code and wireless network is presented.The system is a commodity circulation management system using the C/S structure, we choose Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 as the development environment. The roles of the system are the sale of the company, shops, and the system administrator, and the system has eight use cases,which are system management,basic information management, commodity circulation management,information statistics management, commodity maintaining manage-ment,commodity inventory management,customer management and data collector management. The functions provided by the system include maintaining the role information,the user's login journal and its information in the system management module, maintaining the information of sale company,shop,staff,commodities and their bar code and so on in the basic information management module, maintaining and adding up the commoditiies'circulation information in the commodity circulation management module, adding up the information of marketing,stock in,stock removal,checking and maintaining of commondities in the information statistics management module and so on.The database of the system includes users table,commodities table,circulations table,collectors table and so on. And then the commodities are matched with the bar code numbers, as we do the bar code's generating, reading, printing and distinguishing.The Client was installed on the terminal of sale of companies and shops,which could be a real-time solution of knowing the circulation and statistics information of commodities. The servers include proxy server and Web server.The proxy server was designed in the system for handling the commands sent from the collectors mainly, and Microsoft's IIS was used as the web server, which dealed effectively with the Http request sent from clients through the proper configuration. the management and operation of the workers is greatly facilitated because of the use of bar code technology ,reasonable structure design and independently developed handheld data collector.And we achieved the desired results.
