By the frequent occurrence of the fire accidents, more effective fire alarm system is required. The floor display system is one of the most important parts of the fire monitoring network. An effective floor display system can clearly show the location of the fire point and enlarge the people's surviving opportunity in a fire accident.This paper aims to design an embedded multi-functional fire alarm floor display system. After analyzing the requirements of the systems, the paper first gives an overall structure of the system. The hardware of this system is based on S3C6410 and the OS is based on Embedded Linux. By the SPI interface, S3C6410 can control the CAN transceiver MCP2510 to connect in the fire monitoring network; by the LCD display, sound output and the key module input to achieve the interaction between the user and the system; by adding the Mplayer with hardware video codec to achieve the high-quality video playing; by the QT/E programming interface to complete the UI design; through the USB interface to extend the wireless network card for the function of updating system files. Next, the paper separately introduces the implementation of the hardware driver and the software structure. In the majority of daily time, the system is completing the high-quality video playback, calendar display and etc, at the same time a real-time CAN messaging control thread is monitoring the fire. Once there is anything wrong in the fire monitoring network, this systems can terminates the media player and load the map of the floor with the fire location on it. A WIFI module is also added to this system, by the wireless network, the system can refresh its own files without extra operation. It is an innovative idea that adding the Mplayer with the hardware codec of S3C6410 to complete the display of high quality video on this embedded hardware.In the last of this paper, an overall test is finished. After analyzing the test result, the paper lists the directions of the further improvement of this system, which is aimed to make up the shortage showed in the test result.
