With international trade becoming more frequent, Chinese logistics industry deve- lops rapidly. Ocean freight forwarding, which is the important part of logistics industry, has grown. It has become a more competitive industry.With the development of ocean freight forwarding, freight forwarding industry gradually shows the characteristics which have numerous businesses, customers'complex needs and wide geographical distribution. In this case, the information management system, which is the core of freight forwarding enterprise, needs to resolve many problems. It should communicate with the distributed, heterogeneous systems and meet customers'complex, individual needs.In view of the above questions, we mainly do the following work:Firstly, aim at customer's personality, the paper analyzes ocean freight forwarding-'s businesses. Then we determine the primary services for freight forwarding enterprise. Aim at every primary service, the paper analyzes its influencing factors. We confirm the personality factors and generality factors which lead to customers'service request per- sonality. Based on this, we put forward a description model for customers'personality demand, and use XML to describe it. This model considers customers'request compre- hensively. We use XML to describe it so that we can receive customers'request from different systems smoothly.Secondly, aim at service selection, the paper improves a service selection algorithm. The weight of non-functional factor is given by experts or experience in old algorithm. While, the improved algorithm uses the model we put forward as input condition and calculate the weight of non-factional factors with customers'information. The improved algorithm considers customer's personality requirement fully. The paper also verifies it with data and draws a conclution that the algorithm can select out the best service.Thirdly, aim at forwarding system communication and web service, the paper introduces Agent technology into forwarding system. We use the reality roles which interact with forwarding enterprise as Agent. Based on Agent perceptron principle, we design a perception center. In the center, we design a channel. Through the channel, the forwarding system can communicate with distributed, heterogeneous systems. We use the improved algorithm as the services selection model of Agent's decision center. Agent selects services for customers. It can reduce customers'operation and decision. It also can make services selection more reasonable. In view of web serices'characteristics which are single and easy to change, we use Agent to monitor the services. When services change, the system can respond quickly so that we can improve the system's adaptability.Finally, we realize Agent in JADE framework. We realize agent's function such as service selection, service combination and service managerment. Through the channel which is provided by JADE, the system can communicate with outer systems which are based on agent. If systems aren't based on Agent, we use web services to realize the channel. With the two ways, we resolve the problem that forwarding system communic- ate with distributed, heterogeneous systems.
