The Edge Positional Control (EPC)device of strip is extremely indispensable and vital equipment on the continuous production line of strip. The edge of plate products is often set to a constant position in the machining process of coil, slitting, coating, receiving of plate products(such as paper, cloth, belts, film, foil and strip of metal), the excellent capability for edge positional control could be the important guaranty of the high quality of strip and productivity of the entire unit. To the control system, how to maintain the excellent control accuracy is a common topic of corrective devices on the foundation of high-speed operation of system.In this paper, we used a coiling control system in the washing machine line of Copper strip as the research object, analyzed Systematically the reason of causing strip's unevenness and the measures that how to deal with it, and designed the Electro-hydraulic servo system for the edge positional control device of strip coiler. then the system was established to mathematical model and analyzed comprehensively by MATLAB technology with using the amount of deviation of the system as the control input, and taken some research on the stability, rapidity of response and control error of the whole system. For the selection of controller to the control performance of EPC system, at present conventional PID controller is widely used in the control system because of its advantages, such as simple structure, strong practicability and etc. But its adaptability is very poor. To this condition, a Fuzzy-PID controller which can adjust the parameters automatically is designed in the paper for bettering the control performance of EPC system.Furthermore, because of hard to build the model of Electro-Hydraulic Servo Control System, the technology of the advanced hydraulic simulation software AMESim platform is applied to build the precise physical model of the hydraulic system, and realize the co-simulation with the control simulation software Simulink by using co-simulation interfaces. Through building the PID and Fuzzy-PID control model in MATLAB platform, Electro-hydraulic servo control system is simulated and analyzed. After all, the result of research could show:Fuzzy-PID controller has the better control capability than conventional PID controller, and the design of entire servo system is reasonable. In theory, it provides the foundation for the realization of the control system.Finally, DSP is used as CPU of the servo controller for realizing the effective application of control algorithms. This control systems based on DSP compared to control system based on industrial computer and the control system based on single chip has a lot of advantages, such as low power consumption, small size, cost-effective, fast, able to implement complex control algorithms and easy to upgrade. According to the needs of correction Electro-hydraulic servo control system, the servo controller circuit is designed, including power supply module, A/D and D/A conversion module, the man-machine interface module, serial communication module, memory module, the clock and reset module and JTAG interface module.
