With the rapid development of information technology, most enterprises should keep its business actions rely on computer systems to insure the advantages in competitions. High availability business system will become more and more important in business information system. For businesses, the data is life. It world impact customer satisfaction and business development, even make the production process paralyzed if happens data lost. Thus, recover data from a disaster during a short time should become an important part of corporate strategy. There are two popular disaster recovery solutions:data level and application level. Data level focuses on the protection of data, application level is based on data level and build another appropriate support system. Compared with data level, application level disaster recovery costs more investment. However, in the face of numerous data disaster recovery solutions in the market, how to choose a suitable solution has become a big trouble for IT department.Based on how to choose a suitable data disaster recovery solution, the author gives the idea that company should meet its requirement, fully think about its situation, find a solution which suitable for itself. Thus, the data level disaster recovery solution becomes a better choice for the companies. The author is IT engineer of Rolls-Royce marine production department, held the whole Data Disaster Recovery project of Rolls-Royce marine. After compared with various levels of data disaster recovery projects, the author decided to choose data disaster recovery structure of Oracle Dataguard and also innovate to use Broker Failover and client TAF. After whole data level disaster recovery system finished such as pre-planning, project feasibility, system design and implementation, management and maintenance, the production departments assess that the data level disaster recovery system fully meets the requirements of production department and it ensures to execute failover in shortest time automatically and keep zero data lost.In this article, the author analyzes the design concept and implementation of data disaster recovery methods, also parses the technology highlights in process of Rolls-Royce marine disaster recovery, descrite how to use the solution of Oracle DataGuard, also use Broker Failover and client TAF. At the end of article, the production departments assess the performance of the disaster recovery system. The article summed up the recovery experiences in design and implement, hopes to shares the experience with the industry peers for future accumulation.
