The vibration properties studied in this paper refer to structures'modes, random vibration responses and the consequent vibration fatigue. Thanks to the complexity of flight environment, designers have paid more and more attention to the noise and fatigue problems caused by random vibration in the airborne equipments'design nowadays. Although there are random response functions in large FEA software, such as ABAQUS and Patran, they are not developed for one specified project so that the repetitive workload is heavy and has little tutorials. The research on vibration fatigue hasn't established a mature theoretical system in spite of the ubiquity of the vibration fatigue problems in various practical projects. It is hardly mentioned in all kinds of software and only using engineering estimation method can get a result of the vibration fatigue life. As a result, this paper secondarily develops analysis of vibration properties software based on ABAQUS to solve the specified engineering problems swiftly, efficiently and accurately. This paper parameterizes mode and random vibration analyses of specified engineering structures by using ABAQUS GUI toolkits to develop the user's interface of analysis of vibration properties software and using scripting interface Python to write the kernel commands. Meanwhile, it uses wide band rainflow amplitude distribution for random process combined with Miner linear cumulative damage theory to analyze the PSD of dangerous points, and consequently estimates vibration fatigue life. Integrate all the functions above and then it is the whole version of the secondary development software, analysis of vibration properties software(Software), which makes the repetitive work simplified, makes the analysis process more convenient and more efficient, and makes the GUI more customized and more beautiful. At last this paper proposes some constructive suggestions through detailed modes and random vibration response analyses of two specified engineering projects - pipe system project and airborne display module project in Software and Patran, respectively, which also certifies the simplicity and convenience of the operation, the accuracy and efficiency of the Software. This research is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China through Grant No.10772076.
