At present, car navigation systems market, they use a microcontroller as the master terminal processor, the prevalence of processing speed, circuit complexity, power consumption, resistance to interference and poor performance. On the other hand, the market for embedded navigation systems generally use WinCE, Vxwork other commercial operating systems, required to pay user fees, increased product costs, resulting in high prices. The issues about 32-bit ARM9 S3C2440 series for the control of the chip to an embedded Linux operating system for the GPS navigation system design. S3C2440 is currently the world's leading 16/32-bit RISC processor, cost-effective in the development and application of vehicle navigation has broad application prospects. In addition, Linux operating system is open source, free operating system that can cut according to your needs and configuration of the system, you can save more resources. The main topic of solving the navigation system based on MCU WinCE-based navigation system features such as embedded and other issues is not strong, the system cost-effective to make up for the lack of traditional navigation systems. This issue introduces the principle of GPS positioning and navigation, and then introduces the overall design of vehicle navigation systems thinking, focusing on the hardware selection, design, and software implementations, through experimental and debugging, to the design specifications. System to ensure that the system cost while maintaining system reliability and flexibility, on-board navigation system with a reference value for further research.
