In-Vehicle Infotainment System and related car multimedia technology is a hot topic in the car electronic field recently, and it integrates audio, video, communication, game, navigation, internet and email into one system. At the same time it also brings up the challenges in electronic circuits, communication code, and error control under the worst car environment such as EMC, thermal shock and vibration etc. How to integrate and simplify these different modules has become the key job of the vehicle companies and their suppliers. According to the feature and function of In-Vehicle Infotainment System, the embedded system that volume is small and power consumed is low need to be designed. The rock-bottom hardware and software are the basic and bottle-neck of the whole system. So developing the rock-bottom hardware and software are the key point discussed here.Firstly, the principle, feature and the construction of In-Vehicle Infotainment System are introduced in brief. Secondly, in the light of the feature embed system and the function of In-Vehicle Infotainment System, this thesis draws out the whole solution of In-Vehicle Infotainment System. The major contents of this thesis are research on hardware development and the building up an embed Linux OS based on S3C2410. The main works of this thesis are building up hardware, bootloader transplant, Linux kernel transplant, optimizing of Linux file system and Linux device drivers writing and transplant.According to electro magnetic compatibility theory the thesis gives the based rules designed high-frequency circuit; the key technology of building up an embedded Linux OS is discussed, and through test we found that it cost more time in the process of proceeding root file-system of the Embedded Linux. By presenting a hybrid Linux file system based on MTD device. At the end, there is a brief introduction of Linux device drivers and CAN-Bus driver's writing.
