Hotel Room Management System Design And Implementation

With the development of scientific technology, especially the Database, the computers have already been learnt about by the people, and have more and more impact on people's lives. In the aspect of information management, the computers give us important applications and have more excellences than the traditional management based on manpower, For example, quick search, convenient finding out, huge storage, good privacy and low price.The system of house management is an important part of hotel, which can provide some useful information for the hotel's managers. However, for a long time, the house management has mainly depended on the man to deal with different and many files associated with the hotel. This traditional method has many shortcomings, such as low efficiency, bad privacy and so on. Especially, there are more and more files and data, which always trouble the house management. Therefore, how to use the computers to improve the efficiency of house management is not only fundmental condition for a modern hotel, but also necessary method to achieve a scientific and effective management for a modern hotel.In this paper, we explore a valid system to achieve the house management for a hotel based on the above requirements. The system is a typical application of managing information system (MIS). It mainly includes building up data-base of back-end and developing the application interface of front-end. The former required consistency and integrality and security of data. The later should make the application powerful and easily used. By looking up lots of datum, we selected Visual Foxpro presented by Microsoft because of its objective tools in Win32. VF offered a series of ActiveX operating a data-base. It can give you a short-cut to build up a prototype of system application. The prototype could be modified and developed till users are satisfied with it.
