Learning and mastering knowledge of Network Communications for college students has a crucial and important Significance, experimental and design of Network Communications is an experimental class that is designed for the required courses "Networking Basics". Network communication experiment must be based on a platform or software tool, the purpose of the experiment is to make students understand the principles and methods of network communication, so the choice of experimental tool should be as simple as possible. The basic idea of the experiment is this: First, do a confirmatory test in order to make students familiar with the platform environment, and then requiring students to do more than one designing or comprehensive Experiments. On experimental platform based on network technology, students complete a variety of experimental of network communication protocol by themselves, but also through an intuitive understanding of the process of sending and receiving network data to enhance understanding of the communication process, it is very intuitive and image.This article described products of Silicon labs—C8051F310 series SCM, products of Cirrus Logic, Ethernet controller chip CS8900A in detail, they achieve the design and the implementation process of experimental platform based on the network technology. The experimental platform is consists of two parts, one hardware platform, the other part is the software platform. The section of Hardware described the overall design of the hardware platform, the performance and the advantages and disadvantages of each chip model in detail, it also included the design and implementation of each interface circuit. Software components described the design of Ethernet chip driver, structure of MCU master control program, and the design of PC operating system. We built a computer network experiment platform on a single computer, which is designed to use Embedded Network Module to achieve the sending process of Ethernet frame, IP datagram, TCP segment, UDP packet, in that students can familiar with the data transmission network process. With the continuous development of network technology and Internet using is becoming increasingly popular, successful implementation of this design will provide a good teaching experimental help for foundation course network technology , and than develop more experiment though the experimental platform this design provided, it will further advance the teaching objectivity and experimental of Network based experimental course.
