In the smart grid data integration,"information isolated island"appears because of data heterogeneous. In order to solve this problem, the combination of XML and ontology is used in power system. This system is based on B/S three-tier architecture, using middleware to solve the data heterogeneous and achieve the transparent access and centralized management of variety of distributed data sources. Firstly, this paper analyzes the relational database in ontology construction and finds out the shortcomings of concept extraction, then improves it. The feasibility and efficiency of the method is verified by data, and achieves to semi-automatic ontology construction. Then following this method and the existing schema mapping rules, combining with the contents of grid construction which planed by International Electrotechnical Commission, builds the power system ontology database by ontology editing tools. This ontology database is the base of ontology construction of power system. Secondly, this paper analyzes and researches the technology of integration of heterogeneous abroad and at home. Combining with the integration, efficiency and security features of smart grid, this paper proposes a model of heterogeneous data integration based on XML and ontology of power system. This model is divided into application layer, middle layer and data source layer. The middle layer is the main part of the system function composed of ontology component, mapping and query component. XML and ontology as the key technologies solves the problem of the syntax and semantics of data heterogeneous. This model shields the differences of physical and logical of the data source to the upper layer users, achieves transparent access. Finally, this paper verifies the efficiency and feasibility of the system.
