Active Infrared Night Vision Technology has been more and more widely applied in many fields of today's world with great attention each country paid. Then, auxiliary light source, as one significant component of Active Infrared Night Vision Technology, has a certain quality of lighting effect which directly influences the performance of Night Vision. This thesis mainly discussed the effect of lighting source with 808 nm semiconductor laser as the auxiliary lighting. The characteristics of semiconductor laser and the weak feature of output beam on uniformity aspect were analyzed, meanwhile the coupling technology of multimode optical fibre was theoretically discussed as well with the optical copling method, one common way used at present, as an illustration. The optical copling experiments of 808 nm semiconductor laser whose output power is 2W were carried out, and more than 85% of coupling efficiency was achieved. Through calculation, the 1W laser could completely meet the needs in the distance of 200 meters, and then experiments of auxiliary lighting. assisted by the self-designed emission lens were made. From the pespective of actual lighting effect, although optical copling technology can substantially improve the quality of light beam which the laser has outputted, in order to achieve the better beam uniformity,coulping technology of multi-beam have to work in series so as to jointly carry out the auxiliary lighting to the target.
