Online charging system is open and ubiquitous reference architecture for online charging,and it is advanced by 3GPP in the TS 32.296. It can provide online charging for bearer, eventand session. Through the separation of the service control and charging function, it canestablish a direct interaction between the charging mechanism and the session control function,so the charging function can completely control the service usage process. In this architecture,OCS not only provides the convergent charging ability for multiple networks and services, butalso has the ability to decrease the loss of operators'revenue by the help of real-time billing andreal-time control .Although the online charging has been more widely used, as the keytechnology that supports the development of OCS, it is still lagging behind, and still can notmeet the current 3G of multi-service and complex data. Therefore, the research andimprovement of key technologies about OCS are very important for the whole OCS system.This thesis analyzes the structural characteristics of online charging system, functionalmodules and key technologies. According to the advantages and disadvantages of OCS, it coulddesign and implement an system called unity customer information system (UCIS) based onsystem integration of customer-centric model, and at the same time, it proposes animprovement program for memory database query optimization, the main work is:(1)The background of application, definitions, structure, function modules, the keytechnologies and functional requirements are analyzed and summarized. The thesis highlightsfour key technologies, and then analyzes the relevant theoretical knowledge of UCIS andmemory database technology.(2)The program based on system integration of UCIS that regards the customerinformation as the center has been proposed. The system uses LDAP/SOAP query algorithm tochange the LDAP messages into SOAP messages, and then the query speed of the system willbe improved. UCIS will house the complete customer profile with mapping of various identifiesand key customer attributes, and achieve the integration of different external applications. Inaddition, the system could establish a unified view of customer information, integrate customerinformation of external applications ,and output data in a uniform format.Finally,theexperiments proved the validity and superiority of the UCIS system. (3)An improvement program on query optimization of memory database has beenproposed. Aiming at the insufficiency of query optimization,the thesis proposes a TH-tree indexstructure based on cache optimization, and then design operation algorithm of TH-tree,andpropose a query program based TH-tree structure,at last the thesis shows the effectiveness andsuperiority of the query optimization through experiments.
