Silver cyanide and potassium silver cyanide are master salts of plating silver, and the quality of potassium silver cyanide has a great influence on the life of plating bath land coating. The high-purity of potassium silver cyanide is required by modern plating silver technique. China's silver production process is not yet mature, and did not form a normal standard. Most of the process and process parameters are explored by the technical personnel of enterprises based on the accumulation of experience, and the operation and control of equipments are manual. As so many equipments in the workshop, relatively poor operating conditions, and toxic raw materials, intermediate and final products, in which HCN, NOx are extremely toxic, it is easy to cause irreversible physical harm to the staff. At the same time, higher demand indicators of operation and control parameters are needed to ensure product quality, which is difficult to achieve by manual operation and control. Therefore, it is important and urgent to design and construct an automatic production line of silver cyanide and potassium silver cyanide. It is the automatic production of silver cyanide and potassium silver cyanide that could reduce the injury to staff by toxic substances and make the parameters of production process close to the ideal state. At last, we can achieve civilized, safety and green production and improve production efficiency and product quality.Yantai, Shandong Zhaojin Lai Fuk precious metals Co., Ltd. is a domestic well-known manufacturer of silver cyanide and potassium silver cyanide production. In this paper, taking its production line as an example, we described the production process and features of silver cyanide and potassium silver cyanide briefly, then redesigned and improved the whole production process from the perspective of automation. On this basis, we selected the main production equipments, designed the overall control system including hardware and software design, which constitute a distributed control system. And this could reduce manual work, make the whole production process more smoothly and improve production efficiency and product quality.In this automation production line, we acquire the temperature, level, pH value and other parameters of the production site through on-site sensors and instrumentations and Siemens S7-300 PLC was used as an information acquisition and control equipment. We also developed PC monitoring software on the platform of YAKONG company's Kingview. The host computer could communicate with the field control unit via Ethernet. Thus, we achieved the automatic monitoring of the entire production process.During the production process, there are a number of key process parameters, which are the focus and difficulty for automatic control. To ensure the control effect, we made a more in-depth study for the control strategies of these critical process parameters.
