The journalism history of weihaiwei started from The Weihaiwei Lyre, which was the first newspaper in the period of British leased territory Weihaiwei. The publishing system of British newpaper guaranteed the development of Weihaiwei newspaper. In 1923, the first Chinese newspaper of Weihaiwei appeared. Four years later, Sun Hanchuan founded The Post of Weihaiwei, which had a wider range influence in Weihaiwei. This newspaper formed the line of journalism history of Weihaiwei under British rule. This thesis is to analyse the development background, publication, operation and characteristic contents of The Weihaiwei Lyre andThe Post of Weihaiwei, and draw the detail information of newspaper development status of Weihaiwei under British rule.Introducation is to summarise the purpose, significance and review of the research, then point out the uniqueness of the topic. Profile of newspapers in weihaiwei under British rule" relates the history of British leased territory of Weihaiwei, its politics, society and culiture situation.
