From 1931 to 1949, China has experienced a time of changing fate, internal and external problems occurred one after another. In particular the emergence of the Allies after World War II, China's anti-japanese battlefield became the focus of the world, but also to push China to the center of the world political storm. Special background, creating a golden age for the journalists, at that time, China attracted a large number of foreign journalists. There are three left-wing American women journalists--Helen Foster, Agnes Smedley and Anna Louis Strong, they sympathy and support the Chinese revolution, their reporting have made a outstanding contribution for the world to know China. The three women journalists carried the different motivations to come to China, but they made the same choice to stay in China for the same reason; different origin, different upbringing, but they walked on a same way. They all support the Chinese Communist Party, but their relationships with the Communist Party have different distance. They are practicing with non-objective reporting, but they also have different news concepts. Their reports get the recognition and appreciation in China, but they boycotted by the Western press, professionalism criticized that they are the red propagandists with non-objective. They have made a successful career in China, but they lost the emotion and marriage, bearing the loneliness and solitude. They gain a reputation, but also took the risk, they become the object of Mccarthyism in the United States. As a woman journalist, in the most dangerous decade, they are not afraid, made the remarkable achievements with wisdom, courage and diligence, also inspired the future generations.Domestic scholars have done the individual research to the three women journalists very early. The study of Smedley and Strong began at the "three S Research of China", which founded in 1984, (is the study of "Smedley, Strong and Snow" in China). Research on Helen formed a scale gradually from her died in 1997, especially with the deepening study of Snow in recent years, scholars have begun to interpret Helen from a different perspective. Collected a lot of research data of the three women journalists, including writings, papers, articles and more. Perhaps for idelogical reasons, throughout these studies, the three women journalists on China's active role and contribution become the focus of scholars, however, regarding the evaluation of the characters are thin, some of the side of them are often ignored or misinterpreted, and this is a missing to understand the richness, depth and complexity of a person. This article made a systematic study of the three women journalists from the following four aspects. The first part analyses the reasons of the three women journalists coming to China and staying in China, analyses the different motivations coming to China and the same reason to stay in China for a long-term. The second part consists of two aspects. Firstly, research situations of the three women journalists in China. Secondly, complement and perfect the study according to the deficiencies, this is also the innovation of this paper.
