Insurance industry is an important guarantee for the stable life and prosperous economy, with the continuous developing economy, stimulating domestic demand policy and the ever opened and severe competitive market bringing by the membership of WTO, the development of Chinese Insurance Industry keeps gaining the momentum rapidly. The informatization, as core competitiveness, is a great challenge for property insurance in constructing its core system. Now there are many problems in the data system of property insurance, such as data redundancy, waste of resources, imperfect audit, behind-scheduled statistics and low effectiveness, yet these issues have truly affected the business processing of average effectiveness and the competitiveness of property insurance negatively.This article aims in introducing the research in constructing effective information system of core business of property insurance. First of all, the background and importance of the information system in this field, it analyzes the current situation of information system in China and the rest of world as well as the existing problems. Secondly based on the first part, a further study is given on the requirements to solve the problems, including functional and non-functional requirements which especially for property insurance system.In terms of non-functional requirements, the following factors such as system environment, human-computer interface, operation mode, and extensibility are concerned in designing the system software. As thus, SOA, the newly developed software construction technology, specializing in large scale project, and JavaEE- based components development technology are recommended in building information system of property insurance.Regarding of the functional requirements, UML are recommended in designing software structure of core business and functional modules of other businesses. Beside the adoption of JavaEE in core business system will solve the problems of main algorithms and technical issues in the implementation of information system.The research of study represents based on the current situation of the insurance industry, build up a set involved business all stages through adopting scientific concept design and development technology, which will cater various demands of different clients. The system has been implemented successful in Shandong State-owned Property Insurance Group, and made great contribution in enhancing efficiency as well as working quality.
