Along with the development of the high speed image acquisition technology, the real-time image acquisition technology also develops fast. And the real-time image acquisition plays an important role in so many areas such as security, transport, industry and medicine. But the traditional image acquisition always owns white image and have a low resolution. This system is a high speed image acquisition based on CMOS.It is colorful with a high resolution which is cheaper compare to the other product. After analyzing disparity of the CCD and CMOS, we select the MT9M00 as image sensor, EP3C40 as the central controller of the system and the USB as the data translation interface. The images captured into PC have a resolution of 1280×1024 with 25 frames per second. We use two SDRAM as the images buffer and have saved more storage space at price of a small buffer. As the central controller, the FPGA raises the process speed, minimizes the volume. It can control the image capture,read/write date from/into SDRAM and complete the transmission from the USB to PC.The major work in this paper includes:(1) The drive sequence of CMOS is realized in this paper;(2)The bilinear interpolation is used to realize RGB color rendition.(3) QuartusⅡis used as development platform for FPGA in this system,in which the software is written in VHDL. At last, the system is simulated and compiled in QuartusⅡ.
