Epon Technology In Actual Networking Applications

In this era of rapid development in information technology, the internet has become an integral part of people's lives. Especially in the increasingly rich Internet content and applications today, the traditional internet access bandwidth can not meet the needs of rapid development of Internet applications, broadband operators must promote the renovation of the existing broadband access network, especially solve the "last kilometer" bottleneck problem of the access network.To enhance their competitiveness of broadband service, domestic broadband operators have launched a large scale construction of optical access network and renovation of access network use of EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) technology.First, by analysing the development status of access network technology, the paper reachs the conclusion that the optical access network is the development trend of the access network,the same time,by in-depth analysis of EPON technology principle and combining with the present situation of local access network, the paper expounds the engineering design specification of EPON network.Secondly, by analysis of local EPON network construction example,the paper expounds the construction model of local EPON network and the problems in the construction process.Finally, through experience summarization of the EPON network operation process, the paper puts forward the main problems and the ways to solve these problems in the actual operation of EPON network.
