Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is one kind of concepts, techniques, methods, products and total solutions that is used to make the modern management to be reality, and is an integration of analysis and testing technology, instrumentation technology, network communication technology, computer technology, information technology and modern management techniques.LIMS began at the end of 1960's. Up to now, it has gone through involving research, development and commercialization. During these years; it has revolutionized laboratories in aspects of the management system, organizational structure, test technology and data processing. And it also has been a key technique for accelerating automation and informatization in the laboratories.With the more attention of China National Petroleum Co., Ltd and China Petrochemical Co., Ltd, currently, ERP and MES gain development and application gradually in the field of petroleum and petrochemical industries. LIMS has been applied in the Jinan Branch, Guangzhou Branch, Jiujiang Branch, Maoming Branch, Anqing Branch, and Qianguo branch successfully. And it will get a further development and better standardization.The author put forward the collect and design scheme of the system samples, which are based on the needs and analysis of the user, the current LIMS systems, the theories was faced object-oriented modeling and the ASP.NET platform technology.Some experts have devised the system which can transmit tasks, login sample, collect and issue, according to the research on technical difficulties in system plan. Also some experts have validated the rightness and feasibility of the method by coding. The author focuses on the design of sample collection and the methods of data-intensive applications. After the system is put into operation, good effect has been achieved in the field use.
