The light and color characteristics of display are critical for visual effects in human eyes. With the exploding display market and technology,researchers put their efforts on international display standards and national display measurement standard equipments in recent years. Dynamic measurement is one of the most demanded field among all the display characterization work and has drawn increasing attention. However, the existing measurement equipments are far from being enough to meet the needs in dynamic measurement, as there are so many measurement parameters and problems in display characterization. We utilized our excellent experience in setting up national standards and measurement equipments, and developed a fast and reliable display dynamic measurement system traceable to the optical national standards.Based on the principles of image processing and display a a tristimulas probing system is set up to convert the displayed light signals to quantified electrical signals after taking human eye visual capabilities into accounts. In order to get rapid measurement and acquisition of distinguishable electrical signal, a special amplification and auxiliary circuit was designed and developed for the output. The data on the three voltage signals from the output were collected using a data collecting board by computer control.The data were then analyzed and summarized after data processing. The real-time measurement of the luminance and chromaticity coordinates were then caculated. In the process of calibration of the system, a standard luminous source, standard LCD monitor white field, the standard display based on LED and the shutter chopper steady light source were used. After of the comparison, we obtained the linearity, stability and fast real-time measurement of the system. In the calibration proceed of the system, we have been realized the standard values transfer. Finally, we analyzed measurement uncertainty,and gave the correction facter of chromaticity coordinates for different measured objects.This system can accurately measure the optical parameters of monitors in real-time, give luminouse and color characteristics of dynamic image measurement and monitoring. It is important to observe the monitor dynamic process and provides systems solutions for the rapid measurement of dynamic image. The frequency of measurement reached the domestic advanced level.
