The Design And Application Of Wireless Network Performance Analysis And Management System (pms)

Network related problems are increasing continuously as the size of mobile communication networks is significantly scaling up. Major steps of the traditional network optimization process rely on manual operation which is inefficient. Furthermore, all the operators and experts need to directly work on the OMC-R during the network optimization process, causing heavy load to OMC-R, low efficiency and security problems. Meanwhile delays and conflict of responsibilities are caused by manual dispatch of working order during network performance monitoring. Therefore, it is very valuable to develop a new platform of network optimization and analysis for shortening the processing time and providing realtime feedback from the network.Based on a thourough research on the practical requirements from network optimization operators, this thesis analyzes both the content and work flow in network optimization process. Based on the analysis, a network optimization supporting system is designed, which replaces manual operation by automatic collection of complex data and preliminary data analysis before presenting the result to the network optimization operators. The functionality of the system includes that, the prevailing infrastructure of Browser/Server which involves user authentication and webpage encryption in order to achieve data protection; the scheduled sampling function which stores data of OMC-R into database periodically in order to reduce load of OMC-R; the functionality of customized KPI, reporting and data inquery which reduces lots of manual work such as formula calculation and report creation in order to improve efficiency significantly; the automatic working order dispatch based on alert conditions as well as log recording for the whole process in order to detect network problems as early as possible and to avoid conflict of responsibilities.The PMS system researched in this thesis is based on modularized designing sense and B/S system. There are five parts in this system which are database server(DB),application server(AS),WEB server(WEB),operation maintenance center(OMP) and browser(Browser). They communicate with each other through TCP/IP protocol in local area network or Internet. It also supports dial-up connection with special interfaces to interconnect with other company's information system.Windows 2003 Server operation system is used in this system. We choose relational database: Sybase 15.0 which is widely used in nationwide China Mobile. And COM+ technology is used to optimize data accessing in coding procedure. We also choose ADO.NET in this system.In this thesis, a wireless network performance analyzing and management system named PMS is designed and realized and also applied for performance management,fault management,configuration management,alarm management,work order management and GIS system function in existing network. It could also especially resolve various early bottlenecks and problems in OMC-R accessing.
