As a new means of wireless communication, UV communication has many characteristics itself, such as good confidential performance, strong anti-interference ability and so on. UV communication has getting more and more attention in recent decades, especially in military and some short distance communication environments.This paper designed an image transmission system based on UV communication. The main content of this paper is designing a video and image capture and transfer system based on TMS320DM642 which is a kind of DSP chip from TI company. The system uses camera for capturing analog video signal, TVP5150 and SAA7121H chip from Philips for A/D and D/A converting, EDMA for transferring digital video signal, video ports of DM642 for controlling input and output. Accordingly, video capture, digital convert and video transfer are completed. Because of the characteristic of DSP, the system has abundant external interface and high programmed feature so it can be used in different environment.The system above is combined with UV communication system. The digital image signal from DSP is encoded by JPEG standard, and used serial port as the transmission port connects to UV communication system. In receiving port, serial port is also used for connecting the UV communication system and PC. At last, the paper used VC++ 6.0 to design the receive software for receiving the signal, decoding and displaying. According to the paper above, image transmission on UV communication is completed.
