Research On The Application Of Data Mining Technology In University Students' Achievement

With the development of education, college enrollment continued to expand, and the number of students in school is increasing, and academic performance data storing in the college educational administration system is also growing with it. However,at present for these results data only stay in simple application stage, such as data backup, inquiry and some simple statistics etc, these only can get some surface information. How to find useful information on teaching behind from the mass data of students'achievements , it has become very important. A effective way to solve the problem which vast data but poor knowledge is Data mining technology, which can extract interesting knowledge, rule, or a higher level of information from large amounts of data and analysis data from different perspectives so as to guide people to make the right decision.In this paper, it applies data mining technology used for student achievement analysis, first introduced the basic theory of data mining; Then focus on the Apriori algorithm and use the Apriori algorithm to mining association rules between courses, and analysis the influence to other courses when getting a good mark in a course examination,so that it can provide important reference for the educational administration department in setting curriculum and schedule Scientificly and also can provide assistance in class selection (for example hint what to learn before a course), etc; Finally, detailed C4.5 decision tree algorithm, and using C4.5 algorithm to generate a decision tree to analysis some factors that influence student achievement, so can provide the basis for the distribution of teaching hours.Data mining used in student achievement, it can make teachers and school inspect some of the questions that exist in teaching, and then reflect on the quality of teaching. By examining the curriculum system is whether reasonable,the cohesion and arrangements between related courses is whether appropriate ,etc.And make full use of the information provided from data mining results to optimize the teaching plan and decision-making, improve teaching quality and perfect teaching management.
