PWM converter has a high power factor, can achieve variable pressure and frequency and restrains of harmonics, so technology of digital control representing by PWM control grows rapidly and is widely used in the field of power electronics technology. Its development also makes power electronic technology to boom rapidly. High frequency and digital control are the hot spots of the designs of power electronic device. The performance of the control system depends on the performance of MCU (Micro Control Unit) while digital control technology is being used. Nowadays, MCU/DSPs and single CPLD/FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) are used as the system core in control modules of digital power electronic devices, the dispersed algorithm and control are implemented by software.Sine PWM, namely SPWM (Sine Wide Modulation), is the most commonly used PWM technology in technology of PWM control. This kind of PWM changes pulse width according to the sine, so can restrain low-order harmonics effectively, make harmonic content of sine wave easy control within a prescribed scope, without using other methods of reducing harmonic content.Together with the fact that programmable logic devices are more and more broadly used in embedded system design, SOPC system has also been developed fast. As opposed to ASIC processor system, SOPC system can be easily customized, extended and updated etc, so it makes peripheral circuits of the control system more simple, volume and cost reduced accordingly, its digital control mode makes the processing speed of the system improved and introduces great flexibility and reliability into embedded applications. This thesis applies it in power electronic control technology to meet the needs of some real-time and high frequency application.NiosⅡsoft processors, introduced by ALTERA Company are a kind of new solution based on the SOPC. First, this thesis analyses advantages and characteritcs of embedded system based on NiosⅡSOPC and Details the development process and method of SOPC of ALTERA Company. Then this thesis introduces the operation principle and mathematical model of SPWM technology. Finally, we discuss the method of the design of high performance SPWM controller using FPGA of ALTERA Company. It also puts forward four method of the SPWM controller based on NiosⅡembedded processor and compares advantage of each method. In this thesis, it gives all the source codes of PWM custom peripherals design part, part codes of other three realization way and hardware principle diagram. And we carries out part of system simulation and actual wave, and proves the internal high performance, great flexibility and reliability of FPGAs and the application advantage in power electronic control.
