The modern simulation technology takes advantages of high-efficiency, high-quality and low-cost compared with the traditional methods, and has shown perspective in highly competitive market environment. In this thesis, the structural design and the structural analysis of a shortwave vehicle antenna have been studied based on the modern simulation technology as follows:First, the basic theory of the modern simulattion technology has been studied. The concept, the feature, the basic step and the software choice about the modern simulation technology have been analyzed. Two theories in the modern simulation technology, i.e., the structural finite element method and the structural optimization design have been analyzed emphatically, which have been laid the foundation for the structural design and the structural analysis of the shortwave vehicle antenna.Next, the method based on the modern simulation technology for the structural design of the shortwave vehicle antenna has been presented. The configuration design, the structural optimization and the thermal design of the shortwave vehicle antenna have been done by applying the presented method. The design process and the results show that, the design quality has been improved with shorter design and manufacturing periods and lower cost, and thus the prototype design, production and testing process in the traditional design method have been avoided. Finally, the structural analysis of the shortwave vehicle antenna has been studied based on the modern simulation technology. And the finite element method is applied to the static analysis and the modal analysis of the shortwave vehicle antenna to avoid such disadvantages as long experimental period and devastating in the traditional method. In static analysis, the intensity and the stiffness of the shortwave vehicle antenna while working under level ten winds has been analyzed. In modal analysis, three situations of loading the shortwave vehicle antenna has been simulated by calculating the inherent frequencies and the mode shapes of the shortwave vehicle antenna to obtain optimal loading scheme. The thesis is done by means of software SolidWorks2009, COSMOSWorks2009 and HFSS12.
